Una Familia

Novo es una familia!!!!
Donde todos aportamos, recibimos y esperamos las bendiciones de Dios.
Donde tenemos esta bendición… poder compartir con otros la verdad del amor de Dios, su perdón en Cristo y la excelente oportunidad de vivir vidas que experimentan las promesas de Dios.
Donde todos vemos las naciones tal y como Dios las ve. Miles de miles que pueden estar escritas en el Libro de la vida, y sean así embajadores de Cristo en medio de sus etnias, pueblos y naciones.
Donde aprovechamos cada oportunidad para hacer nuestra labor evangelística, compartiendo con los que conocemos, los que nos sirven en las conferencias y de manera especial, con aquellos que contactamos cada día.
Donde vemos la oportunidad de colocar el nombre de Cristo de manera muy especial, alto y sublime en los diversos lugares donde estamos.
Donde a pesar de las limitaciones y hasta los obstáculos, logramos superarlas para plantar la verdad de Salvación en la vida de los que nos rodean.
En cada experiencia que he tenido en estos casi 20 años, al estar en distintas latitudes y culturas, he podido aprovechar de manera especial las relaciones, que en corto tiempo, podemos establecer con los de tal nación o pueblo.
Podría contar de tantas personas que he podido ver venir al Señor aun en lugares donde se nos ha “sugerido” tener un perfil bajo, y considerar las prohibiciones que se nos imponen en esos lugares.
Recuerdo de manera especial el taxista que nos llevó desde el aeropuerto al centro de Jordania, el cual de manera clara nos advirtió que no era bien visto hablar de Cristo con los autóctonos. Yo le dije: “Y si morimos hoy en un accidente en tu carro, cual sería tu destino”Allí la conversación se tornó más personal y antes de bajarnos del taxi le anime a considerar dar su vida a Cristo y tener esa seguridad de vida eterna. No perdamos las oportunidades!!!! En Novo no las dejamos pasar
Es cierto que tenemos limitaciones. Es cierto que en muchos lugares debemos mostrar sabiduría y cuidado… Pero también es cierto que el llamado sigue vigente: “My name will be great among the nations.” Hagamos conocido Su nombre en todo lugar. Esa es una oportunidad que no debemos dejar pasar.

SOBRE EL AUTOR
Leonel Portillo vive con su esposa Melissa en Cumming, al norte de Atlanta. Sirven como pastores en una comunidad hispana. Fueron seducidos al apoyar el liderazgo de Novo en junio 1995. Apoye el ministerio de Tomas Moreno quien desde el Ecuador esta saturando otras naciones con el DBS.

Where we all contribute, receive, and expect God's blessings.
Where we have this blessing…to be able to share with others the truth of God's love, his forgiveness in Christ, and the excellent opportunity to live lives that experience God's promises.
Where we all see the nations as God sees them. Thousands upon thousands that can be written in the Book of Life, and thus be ambassadors of Christ in the midst of his many ethnic groups, peoples, and nations.
Where we take advantage of every opportunity to do the work of evangelism, sharing with those we know, those who serve us in conferences, and in a special way, with those we contact in our every-day lives.
Where we see the opportunity to place the name of Christ high above all others, in a sublime way, in the various places where we live around the world.
Where in spite of limitations and even obstacles, we manage to overcome them to plant the truth of salvation in the lives of those around us.
In each of the experiences that I have had in almost 20 years, being in different latitudes and cultures, I have been able to take advantage of the relationships that, in a short time, we can establish with those from different nations or peoples.
I could tell you of many people I have seen come to the Lord even in places where it has been "suggested" that we keep a low profile, and consider the restrictions that are imposed on us in those places.
I especially remember the taxi driver who took us from the airport to the center of Jordan, who clearly warned us that it was not well looked upon for us to talk about Christ with the locals. I told him: "And if we die today in an accident in your car, what would your fate be?" There the conversation became more personal and before we got out of the taxi I encouraged him to consider giving his life to Christ and have the security of eternal life. Let's not miss the opportunities!!!! In Novo we do not let them pass by!
It is true that there are limitations. It is true that in many places we must be wise and cautious … But it is also true that the call is still valid: "My name will be great among the nations." Let us make his name known everywhere. This is an opportunity that we should not miss.

Leonel Portillo lives in Cumming, north of Atlanta, Georgia where he serves as a pastor in a Hispanic community of faith, together with his wife Melissa. They were “seduced” and recruited by the leadership of Novo in June 1995 while living in Caracas, Venezuela. Leonel supports the ministry of Tomas Moreno, who from Ecuador is saturating other nations with DBS.
